1.-Lifeguard: a person present at a beach or pool to guard people against the risk of drowning.
2.-Judge: a public official with authority to hear cases in a court of law and pronounce judgment upon them.
3.-Cashier: a person responsible for receiving payments for goods, services, etc, as in a shop.
4.-Surgeon: a medical practioner who specializes in surgery.
5.-Childminder: a person who looks after children, especially those whose parents are working.

ECOLOGICAL EVENT

“Turn off the lights”

Last month, there was an event called “Turn off the lights” at New York City. Seven million people came to this ecological event to convince all the people of this city to turn off the lights of their homes at 9.30 pm during twenty minutes. Some people went to talk to the factories, others to the apartment, others to the detached houses and the rest to the departments and offices for make the work more comfortable and faster for all the people who was there. They explain to the people why they want to do this event and they said that because is an ecological symbol to consume less electricity and to make the people collaborate with the environment to pollute less. Now the people are agree to do this all twice a year.

GEOGRAPHY HOMEWORK

-Separate the paper, plastic, glasses and waste food.
-Turn off the tap when you brush your teeth.
-Don't leave the TV switched if you aren't watching it.
-Use natural light.
-Use energy-efficient light bulb.
-Use ecologycal transport.
-Don't smoke.

5.-All the colours of the rainbow: it means it is very colourful.
6.-Chasing rainbows: refers to someone who is always looking for something more excitin and rewarding but it is unlikely to find it.
7.-If you are playing with fire: you are doing something which could be dangerous.
8.-If you add fuel to the fire: it means you make a bad situation even worse.

11.-A big fish in a small pond: if we describe someone with this expression, it means that he/she is very important or have a lot of influence but only in a small area or group.
12.-Cold fish: if someone is described with this expresion, it means that he/she is unfriendly and doens't show his/her feelings or emotions.
13.-Packed like sardines: to describe people who arein a very crowded space.
14.-Chock a block: example: the streets are chock a block with cars today.
15.-Like a duck to the water: it means that you discover when you star doing a new activity that you are very good at it.
16.-If you blow your own trumpet, you are boasting about your achievements and abilities.
17.-If you have a bee in you bonet about something, you are obssessed with it and can't stop thinking about it.
18.-It's in someone's genes: when that person has the same personality traits as their parents, or does a similar job.
19.-You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours: means if you do something for me, I'll do somethingfor youespecially, if it is something you would not have been able to do for yourself.
20.-If you say someone does not have a hair out of place it means their appearance is very tidy or is perfect.
