VOCABULARY UNIT 0 AND 1

1.-To take the bull by the horns: Means to deal with a difficult situation in a brave and firm way.
2.-Two heads are better than one: Means that when two people work together they are more likely to solve a problem than one person doing it alone.
3.-To keep your head above water: Means you are just managing to survive despite not having much money.
4.-Purging: To make your self vomit.
5.-Long term effects: Things that happend very quickly.
6.-Short term effects: Things that happend very slow.
7.-Follow in your foot steps: Means to want to be like a persons doing exacly the same things an actions.
8.-Full of beans: If someone is full of beans means that he is full of energy.
9.-I haven't got a bean: Means that you don't have mony at all.
10.-Spill the beans: If we want to tell us something secret, we can say to them "spill the beans"
11.-It's a hot potato: If there is a delicate issue and people can't agree we call it a hot potato.
12.-They're like two peas in a pod: If two people look very similar we use this expression.
13.-There are plenty more fish in the sea: It means that there are other choices in a situation. It is often said to comfort someone who had a romatic break-up.
14.-The icing on the cake: It's used to refer to something good which is added to an already good thing or sitution.
15.-It's just not cricket: Is used to say that something is unfair or dishonest.
16.-To toy with (somebody or something): Means not to take someone's feelings seriously.
17.-A toyboy: Is the younguer boyfriend of an older person.
18.-Like a ton of briks: It's used to express something that is very heavy. This expression can be used literall (to describe a heavy weight) or idiomatically (to describe a great surprise or someone that is overwetght).
19.-To fly the nest: Means to leave your parents' home for the first time to go and live somewhere else.
20.-A nest egg: Is an amount of money you have saved in the future.
21.-I wasn't born yersterday: If someone is telling you a very obvious lie, you can use this expression.
22.-To have a whale of a time: Means to have a lot of fun while doing something.
23.-Size of a whale: It is an impolite way for saying they are large and overweight.
PIE
1.-It's as easy as pie: If something is very easy.
2.-Pie-eyed: If someone is very drunk.
3.-To have a finger in many pies: It means you are involved in lot of different activities.

EGG
1.-A bad egg: In English if we want to say that someone is bad or dishonest we can him/her a bad egg.
2.-Don't pull all your eggs in one basket: You should never rely on only one plan in case ir't goes wrong.
3.-He got egg on his face: If someone makes a mistake which makes him/her looks stupid, we van say this expression.

TEA
1.-It's not my cup of tea: If there's something we don't like much (a sport, a type of music, a person...) then, you use this expression.
2.-I wouldn't do it for all the tea in China: We use this expression if there's something we would never do it.
3.-It's as good as a chocolate teapot: If something is completely useless we say this expression.

FRUIT
1.-He's gonne bananas: If someone is very emotionaland starts shouting and behaving in a crazy way we can say this expression.
2.-It's a case of sour grapes: If somebody oretends not to be impressed by something because she/he feels jealous we use this expression.
3.-A second bite of the cherry: If we try to do something a second time because we failed at first, we use this expression.

DEBATE
1.-Chairperson: Is the person who controls the debate.
2.-Adjudicator: Is the person who decides the winner.
3.-Time-keeper: Is the person who controls the time.
4.-Speakers: The people who speaks in the group.

THE ORIGIN OF THE KEBAB


The Kebab was originated in the Middle Orient.
Ussually the Kebab's meat is made of lamb, but it depends on the tastes and the religion of the people. Actually, the meat ois made with cow, chicken, lamb, goat and fish.
It was the food of the kings of Persia and the Iranians ate it once a year in Nowrooz (the new Persian year). Today the Kebab is eaten all the days in all the Iranian houses. Kebab also is the number one in fast food.
In Iran there are so many types of Kebabs like: Koobideh, Barg, Soltary, Boryani, Senjeh and Shis kebab.

WELCOME TO MY BLOG

Hy everybody :) 
I think this idea of the portfolio in Internet is very fun and enjoyable because the other portfolio we had to write it by handwritting and that was so boring for us.
That idea of the portfolio is better because we are using all the time the computer and we can decorate it as we want and prefer :)
